Our Story

Dear Friends and Family, I am writing to ask for your prayers and support for my upcoming 12th mission trip to Belize with Judson University, taking place February 26–March 6, 2027. This journey has become an extraordinary and deeply meaningful part of my life, profoundly shaping my path over the past decade. Each year brings unexpected blessings, new relationships, and moments that remind me why I continue to return. I have been blessed with the privilege of serving the vibrant community in Belize as both a team home-visit leader and the team medic. The relationships I have built and the lessons I have learned over the years have been life-changing. I am excited to return with a new team and a renewed sense of purpose as we continue to serve alongside our Belizean friends. This year's trip holds special significance because of the incredible journey of Jeriel Reyes. I met Jeriel during my very first visit to Belize. He was just seven years old at the time, attending the elementary school where we serve, along with our afternoon Vacation Bible School program. Today, Jeriel is a senior at Judson University and will graduate in May 2027! After graduation, he plans to take what he has learned at Judson back to Belize to help his family and, perhaps, develop a business that will create jobs and make a lasting difference in his community. The photo above includes Jeriel Reyes and Jeanene Canul, who is completing her master's degree in architecture and will also graduate in May 2027. Jamie Castillo, whom I shared about in last year's letter, is now a sophomore studying Music Ministry. Seeing these students grow, pursue their education, and prepare to use their gifts to serve others is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact of these relationships and the opportunities God provides. My own journey into the medical field began ten years ago, following a trip to Belize. That experience opened my heart to the power of being present with others and ministering to their hearts and souls. Today, I am grateful to use my medical skills to serve the villagers by providing blood pressure screenings and fasting glucose tests, as well as education about nutrition, diabetes, and high blood pressure. My role extends beyond medical care. Through home visits, women's ministry, and prayer, I have the opportunity to build deeper relationships with our Belizean friends and walk alongside them in their daily lives. These moments of connection are among the most meaningful parts of each trip. Your generosity makes a tangible difference. The donations and supplies we bring are a vital part of our ministry, providing direct assistance to families in need. I also bring financial gifts to the local church, which uses these funds to care for members of its congregation. In past years, these gifts have helped families with everyday living expenses and essential medical needs, including dialysis treatments. I have witnessed firsthand how God works through the generosity and prayers of others to meet needs in remarkable ways. Your past support has been a blessing to the people of Belize, and I am deeply grateful for the part you have played in this ministry. Prayer & Support Request As I prepare for this 12th journey, I invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with me through prayer, financial support, or donations of needed supplies. Please join me in praying for: -Safety and a meaningful trip for everyone traveling and for the people we will serve. -Unity, strength, and encouragement for our team as we work together. -Provision of necessary supplies and financial resources to meet the needs of the community. -Continued growth and opportunities for our Belizean friends and the Judson students as they discover how God can use their gifts to make a difference. If you feel led to contribute toward the cost of my trip or help provide the medical supplies and other necessities I will be bringing, any amount or gift is sincerely appreciated. Every contribution helps make this ministry possible and allows us to serve the community in meaningful, practical ways. Thank you for your continued prayers, generosity, and encouragement. I am grateful to have you alongside me as I step out in faith once again to serve the people of Belize. I look forward to seeing how God will work through this year's journey and the relationships that continue to grow from it. Many blessings, Christine
