Our Mission
Advocates for Africa's Children builds thriving communities for Africa's children through education, clean water, nutrition, church partnerships and community development, currently partnering with communities in Tanzania.
Who We Are
Advocates for Africa's Children (AFAC) is a Christian nonprofit building thriving communities for Africa's children through education, clean water, nutrition, church partnerships and community development.
Founded in 2006, AFAC works through long-term partnerships with local leaders and communities. After completing earlier work in eSwatini, our current work is focused in Tanzania.
Education is at the heart of that work. What began in 2015 as a preschool serving just 8 children has grown to a school serving more than 200 students. Lawrence Academy ranked 6th out of 83 schools in the district on the National Exam, reflecting the commitment of its students, teachers and local leadership.
Today, AFAC partners with Tanzanian leaders to expand educational opportunities through child sponsorship and school development; strengthen access to clean water and nutrition; support locally led community projects; and partner with churches working to serve their communities.
For 20 years, AFAC has believed that lasting change grows through relationships, local leadership and long-term investment. Together with our partners and supporters, we are helping create communities where children and families can learn, grow and thrive.
