PDX DIAPER BANK

Diapers are an expensive basic necessity for health and well-being, and they help create opportunities for families to accomplish larger, more emergent goals. There are limited government safety-net programs that assist families with the high costs of diapers which creates a tremendous service gap. 1 in 3 families in the U.S. struggle to secure a healthy supply of clean diapers. Diaper Need exists among families with children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities; this issue, however, also deeply impacts the nonprofit community. PDX Diaper Bank provides diapers monthly to a growing network of partner agencies, so they can optimally support families residing in transitional housing, working toward stable employment and housing, escaping domestic violence, overcoming mental health issues, and/or completing high school or other education. PDX Diaper Bank also has a cloth diaper program which provides educational opportunities and resources to families regarding sustainable diapering options.
