Our Mission
Supporting Access and Assistance Program (SAAP) is dedicated to reducing financial barriers to mental health care for working, insured adults in Franklin County, Maine. By helping eligible individuals afford psychotherapy copayments, SAAP strives to make consistent mental health care more accessible.
Who We Are
Supporting Access and Assistance Program (SAAP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2026 in Farmington, Maine, with a mission to reduce financial barriers to mental health care for working, insured adults in Franklin County.
Having health insurance does not always mean psychotherapy is affordable. The recurring cost of copayments can create a significant financial burden, making it difficult for individuals to begin or maintain consistent treatment.
Recognizing this gap, founder Austin Riggs established SAAP to help make psychotherapy more financially accessible to working adults who have health insurance but struggle with the ongoing costs of treatment.
SAAP is designed to help eligible individuals afford qualifying copayments for individual psychotherapy while allowing them the freedom to choose their own provider. Our approach is grounded in dignity, respect, privacy, confidentiality, and compassion.
Since its founding, SAAP has focused on building the organizational foundation necessary to responsibly administer its copayment assistance program and is currently preparing to open its application process.
By reducing the financial strain of ongoing psychotherapy, SAAP aims to make consistent treatment more accessible throughout Franklin County.
You can support our mission by making a donation, volunteering, or sharing SAAP with others who believe in reducing financial barriers to care.
