STRATEGY Through a range of activities, multi media resources, and publications, Scripture Union USA provides opportunities for children, young people and adults to explore the Bible, respond to Jesus and grow in faith. We also provide training and partnership opportunities to help churches, organizations and other leaders do the same. Chimps Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(C)3 wildlife sanctuary dedicated to furthering chimpanzee conservation through education and outreach. It was founded in 1995 in response to the multitude of captive chimpanzees desperately in need of homes. Our sanctuary, located in rural Bend, Oregon, is situated in a quiet, peaceful setting not far from the beautiful Three Sisters Mountains. Bend is typical of the high desert with the sun shining nearly every day.

The Gowanus Dredgers

Our mission is to assemble and educate a diverse group of individuals, businesses and organizations to improve the Gowanus waterfront in Brooklyn and foster awareness of issues affecting New York- New Jersey harbor. The Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club intends to contribute to transforming a dilapidated, historically significant estuary into a self-sustaining, environmentally friendly and healthy waterfront to be enjoyed and treasured by current and future generations. By encouraging waterfront activity and stewardship of the waterway, we reconnect the community with their shoreline. Renewing this relationship strengthens the desire for remediation of our harbor.

We target at-risk youth from low-income, marginalized areas in Guatemala and El Salvador, where climate vulnerability, environmental degradation, economic exclusion and limited opportunities are placing youth vulnerable to gangs, violence, and migration.

We see a world where no one is forced to suffer the hardships and humiliation of extreme poverty, where each person has opportunities to improve the quality of their life through entrepreneurship or agriculture or whatever business they are able to do. Roughly 422 million people live in extreme poverty in Africa, that is one in three people. The World Bank defines “extreme poverty” as living on $1.25 or less a day. Pilot Light has been working for 12 years with people living in extreme poverty in Africa to help them improve their lives through creating a sustainable, livable income.
