STRATEGIES FOR YOUTH is the only national non-profit training and policy organization that exists exclusively to improve police/youth interactions and to reduce disproportionate minority contact. In 2014, the tension and mistrust between police and youth escalated due to events in Ferguson, MD, and Cleveland, OH. Ordinary encounters have become flashpoints for conflict. An undeniable conclusion drawn from the events of 2014 is that addressing police/youth interactions is a necessity. Strategies for Youth (SFY) has demonstrated, through training programs for both law enforcement officers and youth, that de-escalating these encounters is key to positive outcomes for youth and public safety.

Our mission is to create pathways to empower all women, including those who identify as women, by opening doors into the world of building inspections, code compliance, and safety enforcement. These aren’t just jobs. They’re careers that shape communities, protect lives, and command respect. Yet for decades, they’ve remained out of reach for many women due to systemic bias, lack of access, and cultural gatekeeping. We’re here to change that. Through rigorous certification programs, hands-on training, and mentorship, we equip women with the skills, credentials, and confidence to step into these roles and own them. Our graduates don’t just meet industry standards—they learn them and may eventually write them. They become inspectors, enforcers, leaders, and advocates for safer structures in our communities. We believe that when women are empowered to build, inspect, and lead, entire communities benefit. Economic independence grows. Representation shifts. Futures brighten. This mission is fueled by belief—and by action. Every donation, every grant, every partnership helps us expand access, deepen impact, and rewrite the narrative for women in technical trades. Treasure Coast Food Bank
To actualize its mission, Treasure Coast Food Bank utilizes two measurable strategies to alleviate hunger among the more than 100,000 individuals found to be food insecure in our community. First strategy: we share millions of nutritious meals each year with food-insecure individuals through food distribution programming. Meals, which have been procured, stored, and inventoried by TCFB, are shared seven days a week through TCFB-coordinated mobile pantry distributions, our child nutrition programs during the school year and over the summer, with more than 250 collaborative partner organizations (human service agencies, churches) that serve low-income clients who are in need of immediate relief from hunger, and other programs. TCFB has formed these collaborations in order to create a highly-efficient emergency food distribution network that extends into the hundreds of diverse neighborhoods that constitute Florida’s Treasure Coast and Okeechobee County. Second strategy: TCFB manages direct-service programs that ultimately help people transcend the need for government and charity support and thus ultimately, achieve long-term self-sufficiency. These programs are known as our “Strengthen Individuals & Families Programming.”
